12 weeks out:)

Wow time just flew by since my last post. I thought I would be better about posting more often but as it turns out I'm pretty inconsistent. Anyway, I had a great 2 weeks. My lifts were good, cardio was great and diet too. My boyfriend and I even took a long weekend to go skiing. I packed all my food up ahead of time and managed to stay on track (even when we were sitting around at night he chowed down some mud pie cheesecake).

In other news my girlfriend and I will be going to Boston in 2 weeks for Camp Savage. I went to this camp back in 2007 and had a blast. I learned so much, especially that one can never practice posing enough! I practiced so much last year and I still pinched my lats from time to time at my last show...ugh.

Weight 130...on track for April 10th
Cinnamon...well, I kicked the container 2 days ago and started a new one:)

Today I'm going do some sprints and plyo outside since it's quite nice today...50 degrees in January!!

Christmas and more...ugh

The holdays were rough, I had a few good diet days followed by a few terrible diet days. I think I could have been mistakenn for the cookie monster if you were to have come across me in my kitchen. It didn't help that I was sick with the flu so I completely missed a week of lifting however I did manage to squeek out a day or 2 of wasy cardio. I'm not going to bother getting on the scale until the new year. New Years marks 14 weeks out from the OCB Eastern Regional show. A few weeks ago I was ready to throw in the towel (this was probably the result of a massive sugar rush). I just didn't want to go through all the dieting through the holidays and having to explane to everyone why I wasn't eating Aunt so and so's delicious cookies. If I wasn't able to hold it together then I would not be able to do the earlier show in March. I just decided that since I did this last year (I didn't cheat one bit over the holidays...don't ask me how I did it because I don't know) that I wasn't going to forgo the cookies again. Anyway, I'm just going to shoot for the ER in early April and if I'm still feeling good then there's another show or 2 afterwards I may do...or not. I may also just do fitness model too just to make things less stressful. I'll leave that decision for the last month, if I think I will be lean enough then ok but if not then no big deal. Well, I'm going to get back to me oatmeal and sweetpotato mush with a heavy dose of cinnamon (my sister lovingly calls it vomit)...yum:)

Cinnamon:162g (it's almost gone...he he)

07 & 08 Dec09

Both were great days, I felt a little tired lifting on Monday evening but my cardio was decent in the morning. Tuesday I met with my trainer and we did legs and again cardio was good later that day. Today I got to sleep in a bit and drink my coffee in bed (no cardio...woo hoo). This afternoon is going to be back, tri's and abs:)

Diet both days were good even with people talking about all the cookies they were making for the holidays. I've got another week and a half until my next calorie cut.

06Dec09-Sunday

Had another good day. I got to relax a bit and only do an hour of light cardio. I was going to go on a bike ride with my boyfriend but my seat post fell off and after a few attempts of trying to reattach it we gave up. I ended up taking my 2 dogs for a long slow run followed by a 20 minute incline walk on the treadmill (I was feeling a bit beat up and needed to do some low impact cardio).

Diet went well also. Since I'm still pretty far out I indulged in some light ice cream after dinner...yum:) I'll continue to have a small cheat weekly up until about 12 weeks and then after that it's no excuses until the show.

05Dec09-Saturday PM

Another day down:

20 minutes HIIT on the treadmill, felt pretty good. I would have went outside but it was snowing here:) I also went to a yoga class in the afternoon. I used to go weekly for about 2 years but stopping going consistently about a year ago. I have since not been able to get back into it due to all the other workouts I have to get in. Too much to do and not enough time.

Diet:

Another good day, I did have a sugar-free jello pudding but I cut my cottage cheese by a 1/4C to try to make up for it.
The pic was from the last show I did in May. Rick Abt was nice enough to take a few shots outside for me. Can't say I look like this now but I'll be back there soon:)

05Dec09-Saturday

I'm not going to go into all the detail of my life, I'm just going to stick to the basics of my show prep. I'm sure from time to time life will get in the way and it will show up on this blog but for the most part this is strickly business. I'm hoping that by blogging I'll be able to follow and track this process a little better. I do journal now (diet and weights) but it's kinda hard to see the bigger picture.

This past week was week 16 of my prep, today starts week 15...ugh, still over 100 days out. I can't really complain as the calories are still high (averaging about 1600/day) and I'm feeling pretty good. My diet has been spot on since last Sunday and while the first 3 days were kinda rough (a headach probably from the drop in carbs) I'm back in the swing of things. This time around I'm doing my own diet. Last time I worked with a trainer from a local gym and I was very pleased with the results. My plan is to include a little more fat (flaxseed oil...yum) and have a bit more variety but stick to the same macro breakdown. One other thing I would like to do is a carb cycle starting at 8 weeks out. More on that later.

Currently I'm doing a 4 day split and I see a trainer once a week for extra motivation to get me to the stage. I figure since I don't drink, smoke or spend money on tons of extra stuff I can afford the weekly trainer visits.
Monday-Chest, bi's and abs
Tuesday-Legs
Wednesday-Shoulders and abs
Friday-Back, tri's and abs

Cardio is pretty light now:
3X30 min moderate (usually a job outside)
1X20 min high (sprints on the treadmill or track work if it's nice outside)
1X60 min low-mod (usually a slow paced trail run)
The plan here is to slowly increase cardio time leading up to the show (I know big surprise). If progress slows I may have a few weeks with more high intensity work but we will have to wait and see.

Current weight:133.5
BF:21% (measured by BIA @ home)
(Goal is to be about 119 by first show on March 27th...15 weeks away)

The cinnamon tracker: (not that I recommend the use of cinnamon...I just have a thing for it)
My big container of cinnamon currently weighs 288g (was 510g about 3 weeks ago)

I'll post current pics soon...
